AWH created competition in the provision of wool auction services by establishing AWH Exchange in 2004. AWH Exchange provides and manages wool auction rooms and associated facilities in the selling centres of Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Fremantle. It also operates an industry-wide web-based EDI network for fast and efficient exchange of wool sale catalogues, sale results, sale invoices and wool delivery orders.
The salerooms are located immediately adjacent to AWH’s wool showfloors provided for wool broker customers to display wool for buyers. The salerooms are fully staffed to provide instant sales data capture and validation, with live feed of sale results to customers via the internet.
